Yes, I came across that discussion as well, and I’m also curious whether the 40-pin GPIO contributes to the performance of the Hailo AI Kit with Raspberry Pi. I also found this thread: Does the Raspberry Pi AI Kit HAT with Hailo-8L chip provide power through GPIO or only PCIe? which suggests that the kit can be powered solely through the PCIe interface. However, it’s unclear to me whether relying only on PCIe affects the performance compared to using GPIO as well.
I’m wondering about this because I’m trying to figure out how to connect infrared LEDs and a relay module to the Raspberry Pi. I was considering using the GPIO to power these components, but I’m not sure if that would impact the AI Kit’s performance.
