Are any free GPIO pins on Rpi 5 after installatioon of M2 HAT with Hail module?

Hello, Guru! I have bought and installed M2 HAT and Hailo module on my Raspi 5. Unfortunately, all 40 GPIO pins of Raspi became occupied by connector of HAT. Is it possible to find and use some free GPIO pins for connectioon of Raspi 5 with some external devices except camera? I hoped to set a link with Arduino Mega via serial port for my project. Thank you.

The AI HAT+ is not using the GPIO pins. You can use them to connect your external devices. The pins on the 40 pin header extender may be a bit too short. You can remove the extender and connect your hardware to the main board directly or get an extender with longer pins.

Wow! That is good, thank you. But if it is so, it could be better, if the HAT plate had a cutout above the GPIO pins of Raspberry in order to leave them free for access.

Good point. Maybe in some scenarios having the pins passed trough the top is preferable. It is a design choice and you can find both options on other HATs.

Good luck with your project.
