Proxmox Server and VM for Frigate

Hi,

I have a Supermicro CSE-829 Server with Supermicro X10DRU-I+ Board.

On it is Proxmox.

I have a Frigate VM which uses the USB Coral Edge TPU which is connected to the USB of the Proxmox Server.

I‘m thinking about changing to Hailo - 8L.

But trying to understand what I need and how I get it passthrough to the VM.

Will it work with a HBA card which can so SAS, SATA and NVMe? Or is there any other way to connect it to the Supermicro Board?

M.2 to PCIe Adapter maybe?

Regarding the hardware connection, please refer to the following post:

Hailo Community - How can I connect a Hailo-8/8L to my PC or laptop?

For the software, I recommend using the search function in the Hailo Community to explore what other users have shared about Frigate.

Hey @Shaun_Aaron_Durrant ,

Please Also check the guides to run Hailo8 with frigate in here :

Hi, I now have a Hailo-8 card as PCI Express from Delock in my Proxmox Host.

How can I download the Hailo Drivers aka .deb file?

Via Github I only find releases with Source Code in a zip file.

But I need the .deb to built the driver on my Proxmox Host. The VM way for the Delock didn’t work due to FTR. So it seems I need to go the way of LXC for Frigate with my Intel Arc 380 and Delock Hailo-8 card. Server is a Supermicro Server CSE-829 with X10DRU-i+ Motherboard.

Hi,

Please check our Developer Zone website: Log In • Hailo

Thanks,

Thanks that helps a lot.

I assume I can take the HailoRT one for Ubuntu as it’s based on Debian?

All my VM‘s and Containers have Debian as an OS

+ Please pay attention to the architecture (X86, Arm etc.)

It’s X86 for my Intel Xeon CPU

How can I find these versions in the Developer Zone?

  1. HailoRT – Ubuntu package (deb) for amd64 (Version 4.21.0)
  2. HailoRT – PCIe driver Ubuntu package (deb) (Version 4.21.0)

Found those files and got Hailo finally to work with my Frigate LXC. But still can’t get the Intel ARC 310 to run on my Proxmox Host. Seems the missing Rezisable BAR in the BIOS Supermicro X10DRU-i+ is the issue. Also I have Above 4G Decode Enabled. I heard about patching Resize Bar into such a Supermicro Board. Did anyone of you do this and can confirm it works afterwards?
