Is it possible to cite Hailo 8 Datasheet ?

Hi everyone,
this question is maybe more related to the mods, but if anyone has any insight into this it could be very helpful.

I’m writing a section on my PhD thesis on neural acceleration and I would like to include a paragraph on the Hailo acceleration design philosophy.
To do so, I would need to cite the datasheet and probably incorporate one or two pictures.
However, I’m not sure if this is possible, as despite being available in the developer zone the datasheet is marked as proprietary and confidential.

Given that, my questions are (referring specifically to the hailo 8l datasheet 1.9.3):

  1. Can I cite the datasheet at all ? (e.g. [n] Hailo Datasheet 1.9.3, Hailo, 2026)
  2. Can I describe specific contents of the datasheet ? (e.g. describe some of the contents present in section 5.3. NN Core)
  3. Can I reuse some of the images ? (e.g Hailo-8L block diagram at page 11)
    If not, can the images be rebuilt to resemble the original one ? (e.g. a simplified block diagram)

I asked our legal team, unfortunatelly, the Hailo-8L datasheet is proprietary and confidential, and we cannot authorize its use in your thesis. This means that you may not cite the confidential datasheet, describe specific technical contents from it, reproduce images from it, or recreate diagrams based on it.
You may, however, refer to Hailo’s publicly available materials, such as public webpages, brochures or product briefs, provided that you do not disclose non-public technical information or imply endorsement by Hailo. If there is a specific public Hailo source you would like to reference, please use that source directly.
