Help Required - Failed to initialize HailoRT, HailoRT driver is not loaded

hey, this is becoming an unidentiable problem man, despite ordering the original pi m.2 hat… it is not being enumarated… nor is the ACT light on the hat turning on. Could you please suggest now what could be going wrong? @omria @KlausK

Hey @Virag_Shah,

I’d try these steps:

  1. Replace the cable – since we’re not seeing the device at all, that’s likely the culprit.
  2. If you need to use PCIe Gen 2.0, you could roll back to version 4.18 and check if the device shows up. Otherwise, you’ll need to use PCIe Gen 3.
  3. The GPIO for the Ai Hat isn’t necessary for hailo8 to work!

Let me know how it goes!

  1. At this point I have tried two completely different Original M.2 hat for RPI5 as well as one Dual M.2 Hat by Seeedstudio, all with their own separate cables.
  2. I have already switched from gen 3 to gen 2 tried downgrading and upgrading the firmware to the previous known supported kernel version and the latest version. The 8L simply wont enumerate on the pi.
  3. I have a jetson orin nano, and all i need to do is plug it in for it to be enumerated there.

Kindly suggest what needs to be done?
