I’m trying to reach the thermal throttling temperature of the Hailo-8 using HailoRT 4.14.0 for a thermal throttling test.
So far, I have:

Run YOLOv5m6 continuously on the Hailo-8.

Kept the inference workload running continuously for an extended period.

Monitored the Hailo-8 temperature and throttling status using HailoRT.

The maximum temperature I have reached is around 68°C.

However, I have not been able to reach the thermal throttling level.
Could anyone please let me know how I can increase the Hailo-8 workload or otherwise reproduce the thermal throttling condition with HailoRT 4.14.0?
Any guidance on the recommended stress workload, configuration, or procedure to reach the throttling temperature would be greatly appreciated.

That network is not necessarily the best choice for this test. I would recommend dncnn_color_blind, yolov5xs_wo_spp or yolov8s. These models are more compute intensive when running at maximum FPS.
You can use the Hailo Integration Tool. It allows testing of your Hailo hardware. It contains a selection of artificial models (named 1.hef - 128.hef) that can reach very high utilization and therefore draw a lot of power. You can download it from the Developer Zone. Make sure to get the right version. See Hailo AI Software Suite User Guide section 4. Release Versions Compatibility.
That is a very old version of HailoRT or is this just a typo. We are planning to release the Hailo Integration Tool for the latest HailoRT version shortly. We found some issues with the models mentioned above and fixed them.
Hailo devices are just like you and me. When you cover the device it will get a lot warmer fast.
